Okay, you got me, I’m now officially exhausted.

I just wrote a whole blog post that disappeared and I’m too angry about that to try again, so nothing tonight.

I’m too tired to organize my thoughts, so please excuse the bullet points.

Despite the will of the powers that be and Brazilian air travel, I am finally in Marabá.

Not much to report from yesterday and today, but I wanted to update anyway since I’m not sure what my wifi situation is going to be moving forward.

Today was a humbling first day in the field — which really amounted to only a few hours of field time, but seems like that was enough for me.

Goodbye for now, Cuiabá! Time to go into the Cerrado.

Remember how yesterday I was feeling motivated by the complexity of the challenge? Today, not so much.

I’ve been through this cycle several times at TNC: I feel totally lost, I gradually gain context, and then eventually I become confident in my new knowledge - only to uncover yet another layer of information that I previously knew nothing about.

Well, they finally did it, they got me to Come to Brazil!
